Dimitar Berbatov names Jude Bellingham as the perfect signing for Manchester United
Speaking to BetFred (h/t Metro), former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has named England midfielder Jude Bellingham as the perfect signing for the Red Devils.
Bellingham has been linked with a host of top clubs, including Manchester City, Liverpool and Real Madrid, while Chelsea have not given up on their dreams of getting him.
The 19-year-old has been one of the best midfielders in Europe in the last year or so. He is valued at more than £100m, which is not a surprise.
Here’s what Berbatov said about the perfect signing for United being the England international (h/t Metro):
“This is a player that’s caught the eye of every major club in the world.
“He’s playing really, really well for the age he’s at and he’s probably receiving offers as we speak.
“In this case though, because Jude Bellingham is English, I believe he may want to go back home and prove himself in the Premier League, which is the biggest league in the world.
“I would be more excited if Manchester United signed Jude Bellingham than I would be if they signed a new striker.
“If they could get Jude Bellingham, then in my opinion he’d be the perfect, perfect signing.”
We signed Casemiro last summer from Real Madrid and it has worked wonders for us. The Brazil international has been one of the best midfielders in the league this season. Our balance of the team is better having the five-time Champions League-winning midfielder in the XI.
However, as and when the 30-year-old misses a game, United go back to their former selves of not being able to control proceedings in the middle of the park. So, to sustain the high standards and add to the quality, getting Bellingham would be ideal.
The Englishman is a box-to-box operator who is excellent on the ball, works hard off it, has a goal in him and can play in multiple positions to offer quality and flexibility.
Whether we would have that sort of money to challenge other clubs for his signature, remains to be seen. As much as Bellingham would be a fantastic signing for us, it cannot come at the cost of missing out on a striker. Although Marcus Rashford is scoring the necessary goals now, we cannot continue to rely on him.

If, in a dream world it is possible to go for Bellingham and have the funds for a striker, then why not?
