Manchester United in ‘chase’ for Real Valladolid full-back Ivan Fresneda
The Red Devils were linked with a move for the 18-year-old in the previous transfer window. At the moment, the Old Trafford side are still keen on adding the right-back to their ranks.
However, the Spain U19 international’s current contract with the La Liga outfit runs until the summer of 2027. A number of clubs are looking to acquire the youngster’s services.
Fresneda signed for Valladolid in 2020. Subsequently, Jose Rojo Martin integrated the 18-year-old into the senior side in the previous campaign.
However, this season, the full-back has broken into the Estadio José Zorrilla side’s starting lineup. The youngster has made 12 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit in the current campaign.
At the moment, United have two quality right-backs in Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. However, the Portugal international has been the first choice under Erik ten Hag.
As a result, the former Crystal Palace star has become a bit-part player at the club. The 25-year-old hardly got a chance to feature for the Red Devils before the 2022 World Cup.
But with the former FC Porto star being unavailable in recent weeks, the England U21 international has had a run in the team. He has done well in the absence of the 23-year-old on the right-hand side of the defence.

Dalot looks to be Ten Hag’s go-to player. Therefore, it would not come as a surprise if Wan-Bissaka decided to leave the Old Trafford side in the coming months. In that case, Fresneda looks like a decent option to have our eyes on due to his age and potential.
