Patrice Evra backs Marcel Sabitzer to come good in a Manchester United shirt
Patrice Evra backs Marcel Sabitzer to come good in a Manchester United shirt. The Frenchman speaking to Betfair as quoted by Manchester Evening News believes that the Austrian midfielder will thrive under the guidance of Erik ten Hag and make a strong impact at Old Trafford.
Sabitzer recently joined the club from Bayern Munich and did not get much playing time at the German giants. Evra spoke highly of Sabitzer’s work rate, stamina, and goalscoring ability, citing his impressive goalscoring record at RB Leipzig as proof of his quality.
The former French defender believes that Sabitzer’s lack of playing time at Bayern Munich is the reason he has joined United and sees this move as an opportunity for the Austrian to make a comeback and discover his RB Leipzig level.

Sabitzer’s transfer to United was accelerated due to the injury of Christian Eriksen, who was also signed in the summer. The Dane has been a huge player for Ten Hag and his absence is something that the Red Devils will feel.
Evra knows what it takes to play for Manchester United and understands that things are different when you play for the club. He believes that Sabitzer will have to adapt to the new surroundings and the expectations that come with playing for United.
Speaking about the Austrian’s chances at Old Trafford, here is what Sabitzer had to say about the player.
“Even if he hasn’t played in a United shirt, Marcel Sabitzer’s work rate is quite impressive. He’s got stamina and what I love about this player, he scores goals from outside of the box. He scored some great goals for Leipzig, and of course he’s had less playing time at Bayern Munich and that’s why we’ve got him”
Sabitzer made his debut in the game against Crystal Palace last night. He could not do much after coming on as the game drastically changed with Casemiro’s red card. Ultimately, he just helped see out the game.
With Casemiro set to miss the next game at the very least, it will come as no surprise to see Sabitzer get a prominent role in the team. Only time will tell if he actually starts in the Brazilian’s role and he surely can play there.
