Rafaela Pimenta to ‘open’ talks with Manchester United and other interested parties over Denzel Dumfries
Rafaela Pimenta, the agent of Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries, has flown to the United Kingdom to ‘open’ talks with Manchester United and other interested parties, according to Calciomercato (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils have been linked with acquiring the 26-year-old’s services. Erik ten Hag is aware of the full-back’s quality, having seen him play for PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie.
Now, the Holland international’s representative has landed in England to find a solution for his future. The right wing-back has fallen down the pecking order at the Nerazzurri.
The Serie A giants signed Dumfries in the summer of 2021. He has been a key player for the Italian outfit. However, in recent weeks, Simone Inzaghi has preferred Federico Dimarco in his starting lineup.
At the moment, the 26-year-old is contracted to Inter until the summer of 2025. The Seie A giants will demand upwards of €40 million to part ways with the full-back. Therefore, the Holland international may be inclined to look elsewhere, considering the price tag.
Dumfries showed his qualities for the Netherlands in Qatar. The 26-year-old was a key player for Louis van Gaal in the 2022 World Cup. However, the Oranje were knocked out by Argentina in the quarter-finals.

United currently have two decent right-backs in Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The Portuguese has been the preferred choice over the former Crystal Palace star.
Ten Hag has chosen the 23-year-old as his first choice on a regular basis. However, in recent weeks, the England U21 international has also been given opportunities in recent weeks due to the former FC Porto star’s unavailability.

Therefore, for now, the Old Trafford side seemingly do not need to add more depth to the right-back spot. Thus, spending a significant amount on Dumfries does not make sense at the moment.
