Rio Ferdinand is full of praise for Manchester United talent Alejandro Garnacho
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, while speaking to Vibe with Five Youtube Channel (h/t Manchester Evening News) is full of praise for Manchester United sensation Alejandro Garnacho, who was superb in his cameo against Manchester City.
The Manchester Derby was always going to be the game that would show how much progress the club has made under Erik ten Hag. Fair to say, all the players and staff came out with flying colours.
It was not just the result as we have beaten Pep Guardiola’s side in the past but the manner in which we subdued their hugely talented attack consisting of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne., In many ways, Ten Hag’s side turned a corner with the display.
David de Gea was hardly put into trouble and City had one shot on target for the entirety of the game which led to the goal scored by Jack Grealish.
Resilience is a term that should be associated with the current United squad as earlier teams would have let their tools down after conceding. But Ten Hag’s side did not down their tools and came away with all three points in the bag.
One of the main factors in the comeback win was the introduction of teen sensation Alejandro Garnacho who has taken to the Premier League by storm. The youngster brings a level of excitement and freshness to the United attack.
Upon his introduction, Garnacho completely changed the game and gave out a well-executed assist for the winner scored by Marcus Rashford. Ferdinand is full of praise for the Argentine and believes the youngster is producing moments every time he steps on the pitch.
“I looked at the bench and saw three-centre halves, and I was thinking ‘wow the depth isn’t really there’. But Garnacho comes on and changes the game.
He is saying to the manager ‘get me on that pitch ASAP because I’m producing moments every time I go on. how can you make me sub?’ That’s what his performances are saying and I love it
The manager is using him perfectly well at the minute because he is impacting games.”

It is important to praise Ten Hag for the manner in which he has handled Garnacho’s acclimatisation to the first team and the player is returning the trust by providing a direct and fearless approach to the team’s attack.
We have an exciting talent at our hands who would only get better with time and with a great manager in the realm, it is a good time to be a United fan.
