Erik ten Hag ‘willing to sell’ Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka and three others in January
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is ‘willing to sell’ Aaron Wan-Bissaka and three other players in the ongoing transfer window, according to The Athletic (Subscription Required) [h/t Manchester Evening News].
The Dutch manager is open to parting ways with Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe. However, considering the two defenders’ injury issues, it will be hard to find suitable buyers for them.
Brandon Williams is also on the gaffer’s list to leave the Red Devils. The 22-year-old has only recently returned to full fitness. However, the Old Trafford side will look to get a considerable amount for the full-back due his potential.
Jones, Tuanzebe and Williams have been out of favour since Ten Hag’s arrival. The two centre-backs have not made a single appearance for United this season.
On the other hand, the full-back featured for the Red Devils against Burnley in the Carabao Cup. He came on in the 86th minute and played a part in the 2-0 victory.
Wan-Bissaka initially found game time hard to come by this season. The 25-year-old had only gotten on the pitch for the final few moments against Liverpool in the Premier League in the 2-1 victory.
However, the Dutch manager has given the former Crystal Palace star a lot of opportunities in recent weeks. The England U21 international has started in all of our last four fixtures.
Wan-Bissaka has done well and has performed well. But the 25-year-old is below Diogo Dalot in the pecking order. As a result, the Portuguese has started in the majority of the fixtures in the current campaign.
