Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga has ‘admirers’ at Everton with loan move touted
Manchester United star Anthony Elanga has ‘admirers’ at Everton, who are looking to buy players in January to bolster Frank Lampard’s forward line, according to The Athletic (Subscription Required) [h/t Express].
Due to financial constraints, the Toffees are looking to scour the market to bring in players on loan. Brazilian Matheus Cunha was the Merseyside outfit’s top target for them. However, the 23-year-old has joined Wolverhampton Wanderers.
As a result, United’s youngster is an option for Everton. But it remains to be seen whether the club will decide to let the 20-year-old go in the upcoming transfer window.
Cristiano Ronaldo recently parted ways with the Red Devils just before the mid-season break. The 37-year-old’s departure has left us a player short up front.
Currently, Anthony Martial is the only natural number nine in the squad. Unfortunately, the France international has had injury issues in the current campaign. He has not been available a lot for the Old Trafford side this season.
However, the likes of Marcus Rashford have stepped up during our apparent striker crisis. The 25-year-old is the club’s leading goalscorer in the current campaign, having found the back of the net nine times in 20 appearances in all competitions.
Alejandro Garnacho has also been pivotal for Erik ten Hag this season. The Argentine has contributed in clutch moments in recent fixtures for United.
Everton are currently going through their own issues up front. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has struggled to remain fit, while Neal Maupay has not had the desired impact at the Goodison Park side.

Elanga has not played much since the arrival of the Dutch manager. Other options are ahead of the young Swede in the pecking order. But it would be wise to keep a hold of him unless we are able to secure the signature of a quality forward in January.
