Manchester United have been warned to not take Coventry City lightly
Manchester United might be about to play the most important match of their season against Coventry City. The Championship team will be taking the Red Devils on in the FA Cup semifinals this Sunday.
Now since Coventry plays in the Championship a lot of people expect Man United to get through them with ease. However, they have to remember that the Red Devils themselves haven’t been too stellar this season.
Moreover, former United defender Wes Brown believes the Championship side will provide some fierce competition to Erik ten Hag and his men. Let’s have a look at what else Brown had to say about the matchup. (h/t Manchester Evening News)
“Coventry in the semi-final will be a tougher game than people realise, so the lads will really have to play well because Coventry are going to really go for it.”
Brown explained that Coventry will be looking at Manchester United as a team that ‘lets goals in’. So, the game will be difficult for Ten Hag and his men. However, winning is now a must for the Dutchman.
If he fails to pull off a win in the FA Cup semifinals, his fate may be sealed. Moreover, the team has a chance to face either Chelsea or Man City in the FA Cup finals. There is no need to tell how big of a game the Manchester Derby usually is.
So, if Ten Hag and his team beat Pep Guardiola and his City side to lift the FA Cup, the Dutchman’s failures might just be forgiven. However, the team needs to overcome Coventry City first.
