According to Express, Manchester United and Erik ten Hag will look to bolster four different departments- goalkeeper, right-back, central midfielder and a forward in 2023.
Erik ten Hag signed six new players in the summer, reinforcing different departments in the process. The likes of Christian Eriksen, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Lisandro Martinez were some of the names that joined the team this summer.
The Red Devils started off in a turbulent way, but soon found track of their path and since then have enjoyed a decent season so far. The Manchester-based club currently sit fifth on the table with 26 points, three behind fourth placed Tottenham Hotspur.
It is now expected that the Red Devils will bolster four different departments as Ten Hag will hope to guide the Premier League giants back to the Champions League next season and maybe win a silverware by next May.
Several players have been linked with us over the months. United are hoping to tie David de Gea down to a new contract, but are also keeping tabs on Yann Sommer and Diogo Costa.
Diogo Dalot has been the go-to right-back this season and a backup is needed in that position. Aaron Wan-Bissaka has failed to provide the necessary competition and the Red Devils have been linked with the likes of Denzel Dumfries, Jeremie Frimpong and Max Aarons for that position.
Despite signing two midfielders in the summer, it is one department that Ten Hag still wants to reinforce. Frenkie de Jong has been a long-term target for the Red Devils while Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham has also been of interest.
Signing a new forward has become a priority after Cristiano Ronaldo saw his contract get terminated. A number of forwards have been linked with Cody Gakpo, Memphis Depay and Joao Felix leading the names mentioned with the club.
