AC Milan value Portugal forward Rafael Leao at €100 million amidst Manchester United links
Serie A giants AC Milan have put a value of €100 million on the head of Rafael Leao amidst links to Manchester United, according to Manchester Evening News.
While the Red Devils have not yet registered concrete interest in the Portugal international, they have been associated with his signature. The 23-year-old’s current contract at the Italian outfit expires in the summer of 2024.
Leao made his way to the Rossoneri in the summer of 2019 from LOSC Lille in France. It took the Portuguese star a couple of seasons to settle in Milan.
However, he broke out in the previous campaign at San Siro and helped the Italian giants to their first Scudetto in 11 years. In the previous campaign, he was one of the best players in Serie A, scoring 11 goals and providing 11 assists in 34 appearances.
The forward has continued his fine form this season as well. However, Napoli are currently leading and giving Milan a tough time in their bid to retain the league title.
Leao was impressive for Portugal at the 2022 World Cup. He scored two goals in Qatar. However, Fernando Santos’ team lost to Morocco in the quarter-finals.
Erik ten Hag has preferred Marcus Rashfrd in the number nine position for most of the campaign. With Anthony Martial’s fitness issues, the England international has become a quality option for us up front.
Now, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit, the Dutch manager’s striking options have dwindled. However, Rashford has been decent in leading the line.
