The Blues signed Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana in the summer of 2022 to bolster their backline. However, Thiago Silva is approaching the final years of his career. Other top clubs like Manchester City and Real Madrid are also targeting signing the 20-year-old.

The Croatian joined Leipzig last year from sister club Red Bull Salzburg. Since then, he has been in fine form for the Red Bull Arena side.

In Qatar, Gvardiol has caught a lot of people’s attention with his displays. The centre-back has been pivotal as his country has made it to the semi-final of the World Cup. Croatia will face Argentina in the semi-finals.

United’s current backline consists of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez as the first-choice defenders. The French and Argentine stars have formed a solid partnership in Manchester.

Erik ten Hag can also call upon Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof. Our captain has lost his place in the team. However, his showings at the World Cup for England were impressive.
