Borussia Dortmund star Thomas Meunier will consider Manchester United move if Barcelona are not interested
Thomas Meunier will consider a move to Manchester United in 2023 if Barcelona are not interested in his signature, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo via Sport Bible (h/t Mirror).
The Belgium international will move to the Red Devils unless the Blaugrana express keenness in him. Currently, the Catalan outfit have Hector Bellerin in their squad. However, the former Arsenal star has failed to make a considerable impact in La Liga under Xavi.
As a result, Barcelona could turn their attention to other targets. And the 31-year-old is one of the names being eyed by the Blaugrana.
The Catalan outfit have deployed Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo as makeshift right-backs this season. They can also use Sergi Roberto in that position. However, none of them is a natural option.
Meunier signed for BVB in the summer of 2020 from Paris Saint-Germain. He has been a regular at his clubs for years. However, injuries have consistently hampered his game time.
The 31-year-old also featured for Belgium at the World Cup in Qatar. However, Roberto Martinez’s former team were unable to make an impact at the prestigious tournament. The right-back played in every fixture for his national side in the Middle East.
Diogo Dalot has been the first choice under Erik ten Hag. The Portugal international has been in fine form for United. He has started in almost every fixture for the Red Devils this season.
However, we do not seem to have a proper backup for the 23-year-old. Aaron Wan-Bissaka has fallen down the pecking order and looks to be out of favour in the eyes of the Dutch manager.

Thus, the Old Trafford side evidently need to add depth to the right-back spot. With Dalot the number one, signing a veteran like Meunier could be a wise option for the club.
