Erik ten Hag wants Benjamin Sesko to replace Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United
Sesko is a Slovenian striker who has been really impressive with his performances for the Austrian club. He has agreed on a move to Germany next summer after some solid displays for RB Salzburg and looks like the next big striker coming out of the RB group of clubs.
Sesko is following in the footsteps of Erling Haaland and Karim Adeyemi, both of whom played for the RB clubs before making a move to Borussia Dortmund. Haaland later ended up joining Premier League giants Manchester City.
The teenage striker has played 24 times for Salzburg this season across all competitions scoring six goals and providing two assists. He is showing a lot of promise and these numbers are bound to get better with time.
Sesko, who is still a Salzburg player, has already agreed to move to RB Leipzig next summer and has signed a long-term contract until 2026 (Transfermarkt). It will not be easy to convince him to move elsewhere.
However, it is being claimed that the player can still be tempted by a move to Old Trafford and despite agreeing to move to Leipzig next summer, Sesko could consider a move to Manchester if Erik ten Hag comes calling.
The Dutch tactician apparently eyes Sesko as the long-term replacement for 37-year-old Man United striker Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese superstar has not had the best of seasons and could be on his way out.
If Sesko indeed replaces Ronaldo at Old Trafford, it will be really huge boots to fill for the 19-year-old Slovenian. However, if Sesko lives up to this initial promise, we cannot put it behind him to be able to replace the Portuguese forward.
