PSG, Liverpool and Manchester United linked with Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar
Manchester United have been identified alongside Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Liverpool as potential suitors for Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar, according to 90min (Manchester Evening News).
The 27-year-old’s current contract with the Nerazzurri ends in the summer of 2023. And he will be free to talk to clubs outside of Italy about a move on a free transfer. Although, the Slovakia international would prefer a team playing Champions League football.
The Parisians wanted to sign the defender in the recent transfer window. However, they were unable to make a deal happen. And now, the Ligue 1 champions are keeping tabs on the centre-back’s situation with the Serie A giants.
Skriniar has been one of the best defenders in the Italian top flight since his move to Milan in 2017. The defender helped Inter end their 11-year- Scudetto drought in the 2020/21 campaign.
This season, the Slovak has been one of the captains of the Nerazzurri. While the Italian giants have not been a bit shaky in Serie A, their Champions League campaign has been brilliant.
Inter managed to qualify for the round of 16 from their group, which consisted of Bayern Munich and Barcelona. However, they managed to crush the Balaugrana’s hopes and sent them to the Europa League.
Erik ten Hag has several options for the centre-back positions in the team. However, Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez have been the preferred partnership at the back.
The French and Argentine duo have ensured stability in defence. And the pairing has led to Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof getting much fewer opportunities in the side.
Our captain lost his place in the starting lineup after the 4-0 defeat to Brentford in the Premier League. And the 29-year-old has started just three games for the Red Devils in the league.
