Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are interested in bringing Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix to their respective clubs, according to Tribal Football (h/t Manchester Evening News).

However, any deal for the Old Trafford side for the young Portugal international is dependent on the departure of his compatriot Cristian Ronaldo. The 37-year-old has not enjoyed the best of seasons in Manchester under Erik ten Hag.

Also, United may face competition for the 22-year-old’s signature from the Ligue 1 champions. The French side are keeping an eye on him in case Kylian Mbappe departs the Parc des Princes.

Felix signed for Los Rojiblancos in the summer of 2019 from SL Benfica. The youngster had shown a lot of promise in the Primeira Liga. Unfortunately, he has been unable to fulfil his potential in the Spanish capital.

Under Diego Simeone, the 22-year-old has not been able to thrive for Atletico and has found himself in and out of the team over the years. The Argentine manager is known for his defensive style of play.

The Portuguese star started the season in fine form, assisting three goals in the La Liga outfit’s first league game of the 2022/23 campaign. However, since then, the forward has seen his time on the pitch dwindle.

Against Cadiz in Atletico’s last fixture in the Spanish top flight, Felix scored a brace in a 30-minute cameo. Unfortunately, it was not enough to secure any points, as Los Rojiblancos lost 3-2.

Erik ten Hag seemingly does not have a lot of options to play in the centre-forward position. The Dutch manager has preferred Marcus Rashford as the number nine. And while the 25-year-old has been decent, fans feel he is not clinical enough.

With Ronaldo seemingly out of favour and Anthony Martial being on the sidelines for most of the season, United evidently need another forward. However, Felix is seemingly not the type of player that we will be able to bank on to get on the scoresheet consistently.
