Ander Herrera backs Marcus Rashford to become a legend at Manchester United
Former Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has backed Marcus Rashford to become a legend at the club and write himself in the history books at the famous club.
Herrera made 189 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions between 2014-2019, before leaving the club for French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
The 33-year-old, who is currently on loan at Athletic Bilbao, has told ESPN (h/t Daily Mail), that Rashford has what it takes to become one of the best in the club’s history.
“Marcus makes a big difference when he’s fit and when he’s in a good moment – and he has now the best teacher in the team, with the best example, with Cristiano. Marcus has everything to become one of the biggest Manchester United players in history. He is back at his best, he is scoring and helping the team and as a United fan I’m happy.”
Rashford is enjoying a career revival under Erik ten Hag this season. The 24-year-old endured his worst season as a United player last season when he managed to score only five goals in 32 appearances for the club in all competitions.
However, the England international seems to have found his old form and has already matched his last season’s tally in just 10 games in all competitions this season.
The 24-year-old has been a senior player for the Red Devils since 2016 and has already played 313 times for his boyhood club in all competitions so far.
It is not surprising to see the former United midfielder back the 24-year-old for greatness. Rashford is one of the best players in the Premier League this season. Still 24, the forward has a long career ahead and one will hope that he stays at the Manchester-based club throughout his playing career.
