Club News: Erik ten Hag expects nothing less than a win from Manchester United against Everton

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag expects nothing less than a win from his side against Everton later tonight at Goodison Park in the Premier League.

United have won four of their last five league games, with the 6-3 humiliation against Manchester City being the only defeat in the league so far this month.

But, now Ten Hag expects nothing less than a win at Goodison Park. Speaking to the club’s website (Manchester Evening News), the United boss gave his expectations.

“It’s not ‘hope’, we have to do it [beat Everton]. We have to first create a plan, and then extend it with desire, passion and high intensity and we have to be ready for kick-off on Sunday. And from the first minute, be in the game.”

The Toffees are unbeaten in their last six league outings with their last defeat coming in a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa. The Merseyside are finding their form and this could prove to be a good test for the Reds.

United will come into the game with good expectations. They won their last game 3-2 against Omonia in the Europa League. While the scoreline is a close one, it was different on the pitch.

The Red Devils created so many chances that they could have easily won the game with 5-6 goals. But that was not to be with especially Cristiano Ronaldo having a tough time on the pitch.

Ronaldo struggled to find the back of the net, despite getting many opportunities to do so. It was worrying to see him in such form and it remains to be seen if the five-time Ballon D’or winner starts against the Merseyside club.

Everton currently sit 11th on the table with 10 points, two behind United who are in 7th position. This could be the perfect test for the Red Devils and a win today could help them get back on the right track in the league.
