Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar Kylian Mbappe wanted the Ligue 1 outfit to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United in the recent transfer window, according to RMC Sport (h/t Mirror).

The 2018 World Cup winner extended his stay at PSG in the summer of 2022. Having snubbed a move to Real Madrid, many believe the 23-year-old now has a say in who the French champions sign.

Rashford was amongst the forwards Mabbape wanted Luis Campos to consider. Other names included Barcelona duo Robert Lewandowski and Ousmane Dembele. West Ham United’s 2022 summer signing Gianluca Scamacca was also mentioned.

The England international did not have the best of seasons for United in the 2021/22 campaign. Rashford was underwhelming. The 24-year-old featured 32 times for the Red Devils in all competitions, scoring five goals and providing two assists.

Rashford seemed to have lost confidence after the Euro 2022 final. The forward was one of the players who missed from the spot in the penalty shootout as England missed out on major silverware.

However, under Erik ten Hag, Rashford seems to have been rejuvenated. The 24-year-old came off a good preseason under the new manager. Unfortunately, the first couple of competitive outings were not positive.

Having lost to Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford, fans were left disappointed. However, Rashford and the rest of the team have managed to turn things around.

The United academy graduate has been a vital member of the starting XI in recent weeks. Since the Liverpool game, the Red Devils have won every game in the Premier League. And the England international’s performances have forced the gaffer to keep Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench.
