Manchester United legend Paul Scholes feels Jadon Sancho should be included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad over Jack Grealish. The former Borussia Dortmund star has been in fine form this season.

Sancho scored the opening goal against Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League. The England international has also been impressive for the Red Devils over the last few weeks.

Speaking to BT Sport (h/t Metro), Scholes, who spent almost 20 years as a United player, feels Sancho has done enough in the 2022/23 campaign to be picked over Manchester City’s big-money signing.

“Gareth [Southgate] has picked his players for a reason, possibly from previous squads.

“I think he deserves to be in over Jack Grealish at the minute. He scored a really good goal against Liverpool, showing really good signs tonight.”

Sancho came to Old Trafford from Dortmund last summer. The 22-year-old was one of the best players in Germany. However, the England international failed to replicate the form in his first season in Manchester.

Under Erik ten Hag, Sancho seems to have found his feet once again. After an impressive pre-season, the 22-year-old has performed well for the Dutch manager during the 2022/23 campaign.

Sancho has scored three goals in eight appearances for United in all competitions. The Red Devils started the campaign on a disappointing note with losses to Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford.

However, we have managed to turn things around, starting with the Liverpool fixture. The 22-year-old was the first United player to score this season. And the forward picked the North West derby to open his and the side’s account.

Subsequently, the Red Devils went on a four-game win streak in the Premier League, with Sancho in the starting lineup. The 22-year-old scored the opening goal against Sheriff. In the end, the Red Devils took the three points from Moldova.
