West Ham United and Aston Villa in race for Aaron Wan-Bissaka as Manchester United reconsider transfer stance
Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be looked at by West Ham United and Aston Villa in January. The Red Devils will reconsider their stance on keeping the 24-year-old at the club, according to The Athletic (h/t Manchester Evening News).
Wan-Bissaka arrived at Old Trafford in 2019 from Crystal Palace for a fee in the region of £50 million. However, the right-back could go for as little as £10 million now.
Over the years, the 24-year-old’s stock has plummeted. Wan-Bissaka has lost his place in the starting lineup. And it seems the England U21 international has a difficult task regaining his position.

Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Wan-Bissaka was the preferred option. The 24-year-old was a regular part of the back four. However, the arrival of Ralf Rangnick changed the former Palace star’s fortunes.
The interim boss dropped Wan-Bissaka for Diogo Dalot. The Portuguese had been a bit-part player for United before. However, the 23-year-old is now a nailed-in starter.
And under Erik ten Hag, the situation has continued. Dalot has started every game for the Dutch manager. While the start of the season was shaky, the Portuguese has been at his best in the last few weeks.

The England U21 international has played just four minutes in the 2022/23 campaign until now. Ten Hag does not seem to fancy Wan-Bissaka. The season is going to be a long one, with the Qatar World Cup commencing in November. And squad depth is seemingly going to be key.

Will Wan-Bissaka get more opportunities this season? Only time will tell. The right-back is still young and has a long career ahead of him. It would not be wise for him to continue sitting on the United bench.
