Tahith Chong gives his verdict on Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag
Former Manchester United winger Tahith Chong has opened up about his time at the club and also gave his opinion about Erik ten Hag.
Chong moved to Birmingham City for £1.5m this summer on a permanent basis after having spent the last season there on loan. He is not alone there as Hannibal Mejbri has also moved there for a season-long loan spell.
In an interview published in the Birmingham Mail, the 22-year-old talked about a lot of things. He also hoped that his former side can keep improving.
“I think it’s very good, from the last couple of games you see he is trying to bring a structure in – a Dutch kind of structure which is not bad. Hopefully they can continue on that path and keep improving.”
The Dutch winger moved to United in 2016 and rose through their academy ranks. The winger never could establish himself in the senior team, but did go out on a series of loan spells throughout his time at the club.
He gained a lot of experience in different leagues and finally settled at the Championship club. The 22-year-old managed to make only 16 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions in six years at the club.
Mejbri, meanwhile, will spend this season on loan at the Championship club. The 19-year-old is yet to make his full debut for the club, though he has come off the bench twice this season.
Ten Hag will hope that Mejbri gets to play a lot and get experience under his belt. The attacking midfielder is one of the best young prospects at the club.
It remains to be seen how the youngster fares at the Championship club. Fans will hope that he can perform well there so that he can become a regular for the senior team in the coming years ahead.

A lot was expected from Chong but he is yet to impress in a way that Man United could have thought about making him a regular starter here. Mejbri, in that regard, must aim higher and look to spend his future years in our senior team.
