Manchester United considering making a move for Watford forward Ismaila Sarr
Manchester United are thinking about making a move for Watford forward Ismaila Sarr, according to 90min transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey (h/t Express).
After pulling out of the Marko Arnautovic deal, the Senegalese is one of the names the Red Devils are keeping an eye on. Several other clubs are also interested in the Hornets’ winger.
The 24-year-old played in the Premier League last season. Sarr scored five goals and gave two assists in 22 league appearances. However, injuries hampered the Senegal international’s campaign. Watford ended up getting relegated.
Sarr is also a vital part of the Senegal national team. The 24-year-old won the Africa Cup of Nations this year. The winger has 47 caps for the Lions of Teranga. Over the years, Sarr has amassed a reputation in England. The 24-year-old joined the Hornets back in 2019. But he’s still plying his trade for the Championship club.
United need more strength in depth. Erik ten Hag struggled to field a striker in the opening game against Brighton & Hove Albion. Christian Eriksen started the game in the centre-forward position.
Anthony Martial missed out on the game after picking up an injury in preseason. The Frenchman had rejuvenated his form in the friendlies. The 26-year-old scored goals and gave fans some confidence.
Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho were impressive in the pre-season as well after the previous campaign’s woes. But both failed to make an impact against the Seagulls.
The squad needs more competition to give the players an impetus to perform and keep their place in the XI. And hopefully, Ronaldo stays to help us score goals this season.

Sarr is a decent player and an excellent option to have. But it remains to be seen whether United pursue the Senegalese international’s signature.
United have been about the high-profile, big-name signings but it doesn’t hurt to scour the lower divisions once. Georginio Wijnaldum and Andrew Robertson were once players relegated to the Championship, but were signed by Liverpool and made into world-beaters under Jurgen Klopp.
