Manchester United in talks with Adrien Rabiot and his mother Veronique to seal a transfer from Juventus
Manchester United are in talks with Adrien Rabiot and his mother Veronique to hash out personal terms over a possible transfer from Juventus, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
Erik ten Hag has also been part of the conversations between the Red Devils and the France international. The Old lady are said to be keen to part ways with the 27-year-old this summer.
Rabiot has just one year left on his deal at the Allianz Stadium. The France international arrived in Turin in 2019 from Paris Saint-Germain. The 27-year-old has mostly played in the number eight role throughout his career. But he’s also been deployed in the pivot on occasions.
Man United need to bolster the engine room. The Brighton & Hove Albion loss was a stark reminder of the lack of quality in the Old Trafford side’s midfield. We were unable to take control of the midfield in our first game of the 2022/23 Premier League season.
United’s midfield trouble
After the Brighton result, Fred and Scott McTominay have had many supporters doubt their ability to play for a club like United. The Brazilian played in the deep-lying midfielder role, with the Scotland international being given more freedom to make runs in the attack.
Fred was unable to hold onto the ball properly and made a few errors. The 29-year-old gave the ball away on a few occasions. McTominay, on the other hand, didn’t impact the game.

Rabiot is an experienced professional, having played for some of the best teams in Europe. The Frenchman has excellent ability on the ball. But fans who’ve seen him play know the 27-year-old is not the quickest. Neither does the Juventus midfielder boast great numbers regarding goals and assists.
Paul Pogba left the club at the end of his contract this summer. The 29-year-old brought flair to the middle of the park. The Red Devils need someone to replace his influence on the game.
