Piers Morgan clarifies doubts regarding the future of Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo
Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo‘s future has been a major talking point in recent weeks. According to TalkTV host, Piers Morgan, the 37-year-old might have played his last game in the club’s colours.
The Red Devils are firing on all cylinders as their attacking trio of Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho, and MarcusRashford, are grabbing the eyeballs in pre-season. The team’s attacking play is slowly moulding itself under Erik ten Hag. However, they are yet to welcome their 37-year-old attacker to their starting XI.
It has been no secret that the Portuguese striker has been on the lookout for potential suitors this summer. His agent, Jorge Mendes would be busy even after several elite clubs rejected the opportunity to sign his client.
Erik ten Hag has opened up on his plans to welcome back the former Juventus star to Old Trafford. It would be safe to say that the manager seems to have a different plan when it comes for the striker and his future.
However, all of Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer speculations had one common base and that is to play Champions League football. The star striker is known for his exploits in the biggest competition in European club football and could be open to the idea of playing for a club that can actively compete for titles.
Piers Morgan has claimed that he has been in regular contact with the Portuguese striker. According to him, it’s highly unlikely for the 37-year-old to play again for the Red Devils. The Manchester Evening News covered his words, as he said:
“I have had quite a lot of contact in the last week. I certainly think it’d be highly unlikely if Cristiano Ronaldo plays another game for Manchester United. I just think mentally he’s moved on.”
Piers Morgan has claimed that the legendary striker and the club don’t share the same ambitions. Ronaldo would prefer to see a level of commitment by any club that he joins. Even if ten Hag would bring in something different at Old Trafford, the 37-year-old would prefer to depart sooner than later.
However, the host has also revealed a piece of shocking news regarding the attempts that he has made to change Ronaldo’s mindset. Morgan went on to claim that he has been trying to convince the Portuguese to move to the Emirates Stadium. Trying to get us back for Robin van Persie maybe?

This sounds too fantastical as everything would ultimately depend on Ronaldo and what he chooses to do. Manchester United are not short of attacking options and it would be preferable for them to let the striker move on.
It would be best for the player and the club if they decide to part ways and lead a separate road towards their own success.
