Inter Milan is pushing for the signature of Manchester United target Dan-Axel Zagadou
The Frenchman, who previously played for Paris Saint-Germain, had joined the German team in 2017 and had established himself as the defensive anchor for Dortmund prior to suffering difficulties due to injury during the 2021/22 season.
After suffering many injuries throughout his time in Germany, the 23-year-old had a difficult career and played in only 15 Bundesliga games last season. Dortmund decided not to extend his contract when the young player’s contract came to an end in June of this year.
Defender Dan-Axel Zagadou is now linked with a move to Manchester United. Erik ten Hag might be anxious to acquire the BVB defender considering he would come for free.
However, the Red Devils face stiff competition from Inter Milan, who have made the Frenchman their top priority. It is even believed that The representatives for Zagadou have already received an offer from the Serie A team.
Zagadou would be a reasonable choice for free and, with his tactical adaptability and ability to play either left-back or centre-back, could be developed into an incredible defensive monster. The 23-year-old is strong and a real handful for even the strongest of attackers in terms of physicality.
Moreover, he is still young and has his best years ahead of him. That is why United would be wise to really make a push for him despite already signing Lisandro Martinez.
The Frenchman has a calm presence in defence and uses his knowledge to identify threats. With Phil Jones, Axe Tuanzebe and Eric Bailly clearly struggling for minutes, we could use a top-quality defender to increase our depth.
Erik ten Hag, who wants to impose his philosophy on the club, would be drawn to him because of his versatility. However, United would be wise to let go of a few players in that position. The Red Devils have six available first-team players who are fit and available for the centre-back role.
This season, Manchester United plan to rebuild their team, and they have already signed Christian Eriksen, Tyrell Malacia, and Lisandro Martinez.
