Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo convinces Atletico Madrid to sign him
According to The Sun, Manchester United striker, Cristiano Ronaldo has convinced Diego Simeone to sign him for the Wanda Metropolitano outfit this summer. The 37-year-old is yet to return to the training as his future is still hanging by a thread.
The former Juventus striker still has a year left on his contract but he would be looking to find a potential suitor. However, many rumoured clubs have already declined the chance to sign the Portuguese goal scorer.
A Saudi club had offered him the chance to sign a lucrative deal but the star striker preferred to ignore the deal. Offers are drying up for the star striker and with limited options, he would need to decide before the transfer window ends.
Atletico Madrid are now linked with a move for the United star, however, given the long-standing rivalry between the club and the player’s former side Real Madrid, the deal is complicated.
But Ronaldo and his representatives has convinced Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone to bring him to Spain. It would be safe to say that if these rumours are true, then it would be a bitter pill to swallow for the Real Madrid fans.
It is no secret that the 37-year-old has scored a staggering 25 goals against Simeone’s side. Although he had scored a lot of goals against them, the manager still holds high regard for the player.
Signing the big man would be an important one for Atletico Madrid both in terms of sporting and commercial viewpoint. The fans would expect him to have a similar impact as Luis Suarez had when he arrived at Wanda Metropolitan in 2020.
