Manchester United eyeing to offload Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones
According to Daily Mail, Manchester United are set to welcome transfer bids for Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones.
Erik ten Hag is well aware of his new team’s defensive weaknesses. Their defensive frailty was a big reason why they missed out on UEFA Champions League qualification last season.
The Dutch knew they needed to add top-notch defensive players, so he signed former Ajax player Lisandro Martnez and put other essential defenders on their transfer list.
Now it is believed that Manchester United have made Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones available for transfer as they are willing to listen to offers for the trio.
Since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure, the Red Devils have poured a lot of cash into bolstering their defence. Van Gaal lured Shaw, Blind, Rojo, and Darmian. While Mourinho signed Bailly, Lindelof, and Dalot. Solskjaer went out on Wan-Bissaka, Telles, Maguire, and Varane. They are still struggling to resolve the paradox.
It’s fair to argue that both Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof struggled at Old Trafford under the pressure, and Raphael Varane was constrained by his own issues. In light of this, it has become sensible to search for new centre-halfs.
If the defence does not become better, Ten Hag might have to give up on competing against the top clubs in the country.
Even though Eric Bailly has consistently been a skilled presence, he has consistently struggled to avoid injuries, which has prevented him from playing as many games as anticipated.
Jones has spent the last ten years with our first team, but he has yet to demonstrate a sustained run of top-class performances. Considering his stints in the previous two seasons, it would be difficult for him to play for the first team in a game.
Axel Tuanzebe’s participation in the United first team has also been limited and with the arrival of Martnez, he might not be included in the future plans of Erik Ten Hag.

Hence it would be best for United if they get successful in offloading the concerned defenders in the ongoing summer window. Considering their run of disappointing spells, the Red Devils might not be able to get a significant money deal, but it would clear up spaces for new signings.
