Transfer News: Erik ten Hag outlines right-back signing as the next priority
According to @Jac_Talbot (via The United Stand) [h/t Manchester Evening News], Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag outlines right-back as the next place that he wants to reinforce this summer.
The Dutch tactician took over the reins from Ralf Ragnick at the beginning of this summer and he is slowly yet surely making the required signings to lead the Red Devils into a revolution and take them back to where they belong.
Having already completed the signing of Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen, Man United are off to a great start. The next player on that list is said to be Lisandro Martinez with a move for the Ajax man a matter of time.
After this, it has now emerged that ten Hag wants to sign a right-back to reinforce the squad. He right now has Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as options and whilst the former is still expected to play a significant role, the Englishman is expected to leave.
Two names being touted as possible suitors for the Red Devils to fill the void at right-back are Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan and Achraf Hakimi from PSG. Whilst the former seems like a possibility, the latter seems unrealistic.
The Dutch defender, Dumfries who impressed one and all with his performances for the Netherlands in the Euros has continued his good form going into the season with Inter Milan. One of Simone Inzaghi’s most influential players, the right-back is a serious talent.
He is everything that ten Hag would expect from a full-back playing for his team. The Dutchman is excellent going forward and equally adept in defence.
Ten Hag would be a very smart man to bring in a right-back this summer. Signing Dumfries and rotating him with Dalot could just be what we need to bring the best out of both those players in a position where we have lacked in recent years.

If Inter Milan agree to sell Dumfries and he is available at the right price, this should be a no-brainer for Man United. If not, we must continue to push whilst looking at other options.
