Transfer News: Chelsea pulls out of race for Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo

According to popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has decided to pull out of the running to sign Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s future has been very tumultuous in recent weeks with the former Real Madrid man linked with a move away from the club he joined just over a year ago and Chelsea are not the only club who are linked with them.

Now that it has emerged that the Blues do not want to sign the 37-year-old despite the player’s entourage offering him to the London club, it remains to be seen what happens to the future of Ronaldo ahead of next season.

Ronaldo’s homecoming has not gone according to plan, especially from the club’s perspective with Manchester United having an absolutely abysmal season last time around despite the Portuguese’s performances.

On a personal note though, the 37-year-old still ended up having a very decent season on a personal note. Cristiano Ronaldo played 38 games across all competitions scoring 24 goals and providing three assists across all competitions.

Ten Hag seems to be keen on wanting to keep Ronaldo at Old Trafford and despite the player’s desire, the club seems to be very adamant in their stance to keep the player they signed from Juventus at the beginning of last season.

If Ronaldo decides to stay, he will definitely have a place in Erik ten Hag’s team. He is yet to turn up to training with the team for the pre-season and United will want to sort the player’s future as soon as possible.

It remains to be seen what happens with the future of Cristiano Ronaldo. If ten Hag wants to keep him in the team, he will definitely have a plan to use him in his team next season and all we can do is wait and see what happens.
