Manchester United consider a transfer for Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski this summer
According to journalist Pete O’Rourke on GiveMeSport (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United will consider approaching Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski for a potential transfer move this summer. His future at Allianz Arena is clouded by uncertainty at this moment after he expressed his desire to leave ahead of the next season.
It has now been claimed that Man United would assess their options to sign Lewandowski if Cristiano Ronaldo leaves in the summer transfer window. In fact, their interest is said to be “sure” at this moment if they would need to prepare for life after their talisman for the upcoming campaign.
However, the Red Devils would not have it easy with Barcelona being linked with a move for Lewandowski as well. The Polish international has just one year left in his current contract, which certainly makes him a market opportunity as he no longer wants to stay with Bayern Munchen.
Lewandowski great option but possible?
It is difficult to see us signing the 33-year-old, considering how he seems to have made up his mind to join Barca in this transfer window. In fact, it is thought that he also has reached a personal agreement with the La Liga giants to move to Camp Nou.
Furthermore, the Catalans’ president Joan Laporta has revealed that they have even tabled an offer for the Bundesliga superstar at this point. In such a case, it would be a stern task indeed to scupper the Spanish club when they are far ahead of us in the pursuit of signing Lewandowski.
As such, it would be wise to shortlist potential targets who appear to be achievable, unlike the case with the former Borussia Dortmund man. In any case, we have to first wait and see how Ronaldo’s situation would pan out in the coming days or weeks.
The Manchester outfit has already declared the arrival of a new attacker to be a priority due to Ronaldo’s desire to depart the club. That being said, he has failed to generate interest from elsewhere which seriously raises our chances of keeping hold of the talisman.

As such, we may not need to find a replacement after all, although we have recently been linked with a move for RB Leipzig ace Bryan Brobbey as well. However, the supporters believe that he is more suited to a second fiddle role rather than a direct alternative for Ronaldo.
Perhaps the Mancunians could be confident that they may just succeed in keeping Ronaldo which could explain the interest in Brobbey. In any case, only time will give us an answer on this front ahead of the next campaign.
