Cristiano Ronaldo is concerned about Manchester United summer transfer policy
According to the Spanish media outlet AS (h/t Metro), Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his concern regarding the transfer policy taken by Manchester United this summer. They are yet to make any signings so far despite the need to reinforce several areas across the squad.
The Red Devils desperately need to bolster their ranks after failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League. In fact, they endured their worst ever Premier League campaign last time around, which goes to show how dire the situation has been during that period.
Following Erik ten Hag’s arrival, the supporters were expecting to see a rebuild this summer, but that has not happened so far. Now, it seems that Ronaldo has also become “worried” about the current situation, with doubts creeping up about their chances of enjoying a great season up ahead.
Understandable!
Just like Cristiano, the Red Devils fans are also eager to see additions being made to the team after enduring a disappointing season. However, that has not happened so far, which has led to frustrations within the fanbase about the lack of progress the club have made during this time.
If that is the case, the Portuguese international cannot be blamed either, as someone of his stature would want to fight for titles every single campaign. In fact, his determination to stick with us despite missing out on the prestigious European competition shows how he wants to be a part of our attempt to get back to the glory days.
However, with the 37-year-old being in line to become a free agent next summer, the creation of doubts in his mind has forced his future into uncertain waters at this moment. Moreover, it is stated that he is fearful about the fact that the club may miss out on improving key areas in the team because of their current transfer strategy.
The supporters can certainly relate to the former Real Madrid man’s feelings under the current circumstances. That is especially the case when their direct competitors like Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have already made signings this summer.

That leaves Chelsea as the only side who have not made any transfer business apart from us in the “Big 6” clubs. However, they have been busy with their changes behind the scenes, unlike our case so far. Hence, questions can certainly be raised about our plans with the pre-season drawing close with each passing day.
Let’s hope to see some changes soon enough so that ten Hag can begin his preparations with adequate resources to instil his identity into the squad.
