Fabrizio Romano: Juventus waiting for Paul Pogba transfer decision as Manchester United exit looms
According to the transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Juventus are currently waiting for a response from Manchester United star Paul Pogba after offering a contract proposal to facilitate a transfer this summer. They are looking to re-sign him once again after taking him away from Manchester United back in 2012.
Man United have already confirmed that Pogba will be leaving them on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of this month. His tenure at Old Trafford has come to a bittersweet end after the English side secured his services from Juve for €100million back in 2016.
The Bianconeri have offered a contract which will see the Frenchman earn wages of around €8million net guaranteed per season. His salary could rise even further if certain targets are met in the future, with Juve now lying in wait for the Frenchman’s decision.
Failed second spell?
Now that the 29-year-old will leave the Manchester club this summer, his second tenure with us has overall been a disappointment indeed. While Pogba is not entirely at fault for the disappointing second spell, his inability to overcome the struggles did play a role in the failure.
The Premier League ace only won two titles at Theatre of Dreams since joining us in 2016, one being the League Cup and the other being the Europa League. That is quite disappointing looking at the expenses we incurred to bring him back to the club and the costs involved to keep hold of him as well.
The Mancunians certainly did not provide the right surroundings for the players to perform to their best. However, one could argue that the club have often tried to get the best out of Pogba by making several changes like tweaking systems to suit his needs and so on.
Despite that, the French international could not reach the same heights that he consistently showcased for his national team. As such, the fans are disappointed by the fact that signing Pogba did not turn out to be the way that they had expected back then.

However, the board must look toward the future and find suitable alternatives who can fill in the boots of the Man United ace. Pogba leaving England to join another club would be in our best interests as we would not have to deal with us regularly.
At the same time, the supporters would have a hard time seeing Pogba excel in Turin as he was not able to showcase his world-class quality and influence games for us as many hoped him to do. Then again, they do wish the best for him but whether that will be with Massimiliano Allegri’s side or not remains to be seen.
