Transfer News: AC Milan have joined Manchester United in the chase for Victor Osimhen
According to transfer news from La Repubblica, AC Milan are keeping a close tab on Manchester United target Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer transfer window.
Victor Osimhen remains one of the stand-out performers in the Serie A, bagging 18 goals and 6 assists in 32 appearances across all competitions. The Nigerian has some solid physical attributes and strong goal-scoring skills that make him a good fit for the Premier League.
Manchester United have remained highly interested in Victor Osimhen having already tabled an offer earlier this month. Due to Napoli’s aggression in the market, his price can shoot more than €100m. However, considering United are in desperate need of a no. 9, they might agree to pay such a price.
However, a new challenge has been raised in front of Manchester United in the pursuit of Osimhen, It is believed that AC Milan have shown interest in the Nigerian star lately. La Repubblica says the Rossoneri have been closely following the striker and club chief Paolo Maldini sees him as a ‘dream transfer’.
Although other top teams are targeting Victor Osimhen, it is believed that United have made the ‘most important offer’ and remain imminent in securing the signature of the 23-year-old.
How can Victor Osimhen help Manchester United?
Manchester United would be left with only Cristiano Ronaldo as their prime striker after Edinson Cavani leaves the club at the end of the season. Even though the Portuguese has been in scintillating form, considering he is 37 years old he might not be best suited for the Red Devils’ long-term plans.
United would require someone who can perform on a regular basis and keeping Rinalso’s age in mind, the manager would be taking a heavy risk if he puts all the pressure on the Portuguese star.
Victor Osimhen has produced a mature spell for Napoli and seems to be ready for the next challenge in his career. Even though he hasn’t played in the Premier League, considering his natural attacking attributes, he might not take much time to adapt.
