Transfer News: Bayern Munich join race to sign Manchester United star Paul Pogba
According to the Spanish source Fichajes (h/t Manchester Evening News), Bayern Munich have joined the race to sign Manchester United star Paul Pogba in the summer transfer window. He is expected to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season after failing to live up to the expectations since his return.
Pogba is nearing the end of his current contract with Man United, and he is set to depart on a free transfer this summer. That has made him one of the most sought after midfielders in world football ahead of the next term. Several European powerhouses like Real Madrid and Juventus are already in the fray as of now.
Now, Bayern Munchen have shown an interest in securing the Frenchman’s services after this campaign. They are eager to get their hands on the central midfielder and are keeping a “close eye” on the developments ahead of a potential move.
Man Utd must prepare for imminent exit!
Since we already know that the 29-year-old is set to leave us, the board must prepare for his departure at the earliest. After all, losing him would be a damning blow even if he has disappointed with his performances during his second spell at the Theatre of Dreams.
With Erik ten Hag being in line to join us this summer, it is imperative that the Manchester board back the incoming man in charge. That means finding a suitable replacement for Pogba who would match what Ten Hag wants from his midfielder moving forward.
As long as Pogba does not join up with a Premier League side, fans would not be worried about which team links up with this summer. Seeing him don another English team’s colour would certainly be an odd sight and if the club he joins turns out to be Bayern, perhaps the only time we would have to worry about such a move in the near future is if we meet the German giants in European competitions.
With the summer transfer window nearing close with each passing day, we must be active with our transfer plans from here on out to set things up for a smooth transition. That is especially the case when we are set to lose other midfielders like Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Nemanja Matic for free as well.
We cannot afford to make any more mistakes in the transfer market, so the management must be apt in the sense that the transfer business is done after proper consultation with important figures like Ralf Rangnick and Tan Hag moving forward. Let’s hope that is the case as we look to start a new project under the Dutchman.
