Manchester United could offer Anthony Martial to Tottenham Hotspur in an attempt to purchase Harry Kane
According to ESPN, Manchester United could include Anthony Martial in a proposed swap deal to Tottenham Hotspur in an attempt to purchase English star, Harry Kane.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club in recent times. Despite having a slow start to the season, the English striker has rediscovered his form under Antonio Conte, becoming a menace to opposition defenders of late.
Kane has now totalled 22 goals and bagged six assists in 44 matches across all competitions despite having a torrid start to the campaign. Spurs aren’t willing to let go of their prized asset so easily and value the player at more than £100 million.
This could be a problem for us considering his age and it is now believed that Martial could go the other way in an attempt to facilitate the deal as well as reduce any such cost. The French striker’s performances have blown hot and cold in the last couple of seasons with the club.
Kane and Martial to swap teams?
The 26-year-old who is currently on loan to Sevilla hasn’t managed to make a substantial impact at the Spanish club either and the Red Devils could now be looking to offload the player in an attempt to rebuild the squad with fresh and hungry faces.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani provide a range of experience upfront to the Mancunian club. That being said, the Uruguayan international could leave the club as a free agent at the end of the season with a looming uncertainty also being cast around the immediate future of the Portuguese star.
Under such circumstances, the club could do well to add a suitable striker to their ranks sooner rather than later. This would help them better prepare for the future. The Old Trafford outfit has been increasingly linked to the likes of Darwin Nunez recently.
While the 22-year-old has shown great promise, his pursuit could be a big gamble considering his lack of experience in the Premier League which is very different from the place where he currently plies his trade. In comparison, the English captain has a vast array of experience in the Premier League and could therefore be a more astute pick.
Should a swap deal with Anthony Martial going the other way boost our chances of landing the English talisman, it could be considered a very good offer for the Red Devils. It would not only help us land an established striker in his prime, but also subtract an enormous chunk of money from our wage bill.

It remains to be seen whether or not such a proposition will increase our chances of purchasing Harry Kane for a lesser fee. While Tottenham may have enquired about his availability in the past, taking his recent performances into account it would be highly unlikely that the Spurs faithful would want him at their club much less in a swap deal that sees their beloved striker go the other way.
