Manchester United show interest in AS Roma forward Tammy Abraham
According to Il Messaggero, relayed by Siamo La Roma (h/t Sports Witness), Manchester United are interested in AS Roma’s centre-forward Tammy Abraham. The former Chelsea ace has been impressive ever since making the move to the Serie A club.
The Red Devils have struggled to open up opposition defences this season. With the prospect of Edinson Cavani leaving at the end of the season and Anthony Martial struggling in his loan spell at Sevilla, the club could do themselves a favour by adding an exciting young striker to their ranks.
Abraham fits this bill perfectly and could still potentially have some of the best years of his footballing years ahead of him. The English striker has already bagged 23 goals and four assists in 40 matches across all competitions for the Italian side
Could Abraham perform a miracle at Old Trafford?
Whilst Cristiano Ronaldo has proven to be a dependable option since returning to Manchester United, at 37, asking him to spearhead the attack week in and week out could be too much of a burden on his ageing shoulders.
The Portuguese superstar has been a pivotal attacking outlet but we cannot solely rely on him to deliver on the big occasions. This is why the acquisition of the English striker makes a lot of sense given the fact that he has a decent amount of experience in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old bagged 30 goals and notched up 12 assists in 82 matches across all competitions for Chelsea during his time at Stamford Bridge. He cemented his position in the Blues squad under the guidance of former manager Frank Lampard but failed to get the same kind of opportunities following the arrival of Thomas Tuchel.
Abraham made the switch to the Giallorossi before the start of the campaign and has grown in leaps and bounds under the watchful eye of Jose Mourinho. His performances would certainly be attracting some interest from top clubs and Manchester United have shown a keen eye towards him.

With all this in mind, it is highly unlikely that the Italian club would want to let go of their star attacker. This can simply add to the layers of difficulty in securing such a deal and the Mancunian club may have to part ways with a huge sum if they are genuinely interested in the former Cobham graduate.
