Thomas Tuchel addresses Manchester United links amidst Chelsea uncertainty.

Manchester United handed Thomas Tuchel update after enquiring over a potential move to Old Trafford

According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports News on Twitter, Manchester United received an update regarding their interest in Thomas Tuchel after making an enquiry over a potential move to Old Trafford. His future at Stamford Bridge has been uncertain following the volatile situation that has unravelled at Chelsea.

Man United are keen to appoint Tuchel as their next manager following the ownership uncertainty caused by the UK Government sanctioning Roman Abramovich. The former made an enquiry to prise away the Blues boss as a result, but they have been dealt a blow in their pursuit.

The German coach and his family are happy with life in West London, and he wants to stay with his club despite the current circumstances. It is also claimed that he does not even want to entertain offers from the Red Devils as his mind is fully set on staying at Stamford Bridge.

Blow for Man Utd, but expected

The 48-year-old coach would have been a great option for us, but this update is not a surprise given his commitment to Chelsea. After all, he has not shown any displeasure with the Blues in public, even as they are going through a rough phase at this moment.

More so, the rivalry between the Manchester club and the West London side only complicates matters further. That being said, it was a good decision from the board’s side to clear things out so that we can have a clear idea about what to do moving forward.

Now that Tuchel’s stance regarding a move to Old Trafford is clear, we must divert our attention towards other targets as we near the summer transfer window. This uncertainty surrounding the managerial situation must be addressed at the earliest so that we can have a clear idea about what lies in store for us.

Ralf Rangnick is only an interim coach at this instant, so we need someone who can guide us back to the glory days under a new project. Not to mention, we cannot make any progress with our transfer dealings without reaching an agreement over the managerial position at Theatre of Dreams.

As such, we are hopeful that the Red Devils board will find a solution to this situation at the earliest to protect our interests. The likes of Ajax’s Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino of Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with a move to join us. Only time will tell who will be the one to lead us from the next season onwards.
