Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes described to be ‘uncoachable’ by Old Trafford insiders
According to the Independent, Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has been described as uncoachable by some at the club, as the Old Trafford side’s problems within the squad were being laid bare.
Fernandes moved to United in the winter transfer market in 2020, with the club splashing the cash on the former Sporting CP player to add a talented attacking midfielder to their ranks as the side was lacking in creativity.
The Portugal international became an instant superstar in Manchester, driving the team forward and chipping in with goals and assists regularly as he quickly became an undroppable in the starting XI.
The player was last seen in United’s 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid in the Round of 16 tie in the Champions League, as he could not prevent his side from crashing out of the competition despite having the advantage by playing at home.
Tactical anarchy
Fernandes has always been a natural leader on the pitch, barking instructions and leading the side on even when he is not wearing the armband. He is known to call other players out for their mistakes, but insiders at the club say that it was justifiable when he was producing.
Further, such an attitude is now seen as being disruptive to the team rather than being idealised as “raising standards”. It is also said that Fernandes is responsible for disrupting play by causing “tactical anarchy” and is described as “uncoachable”.
The 27-year-old has been United’s go-to man ever since his arrival in England, with the team being heavily reliant on the player for creating our best chances and also finishing them himself. His impact on the side has been such that his goals and assists have led the club to finish in the top three positions in the Premier League since his debut.
We are no doubt a better side with Fernandes in it, but his influence on the side has waned this term. Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to the side may have taken the limelight off his compatriot, but as Portugal teammates, they are used to playing with each other.

Perhaps, the midfielder has been overworked in recent times due to the side being overly reliant on him for chipping in with goals and assists regularly. Juan Mata is perhaps the only other natural central attacking midfielder in the squad, but the Spaniard has largely been kept on the fringes- probably due to him being on the wane with his growing age.
Although some at the club have described him to be a difficult player to work with, he has also arguably been one of our most consistent and influential stars in the team. He may have waned in his performances of late, but there is no doubt about the talent and impact he displays on the pitch to consider dropping him.
