Manchester United dealt a blow in their transfer pursuit of Palmeiras starlet Endrick
According to reports from TNT Sports Brazil, via Mundo Deportivo (h/t Daily Mail), Palmeiras teenager Endrick has dealt a transfer blow to Manchester United after the player admitted his desire to stay at the Brazilian club for a ‘long time’.
The 15-year-old has got tongues wagging about his ability and skill in Brazil, which has seen him be linked to several top-flight clubs in Europe. The continent has, after all, helped several Brazilian stars further their careers in the past.
Endrick said that he wanted to stay at his current club Palmeiras for a long time and bring joy to the fans that have supported him throughout his young but fledgling career so far.
“I’m going to stay at Palmeiras for a long time; I think I can bring a lot of joy to the fans here.”
This statement from the teenager is a blow not only to Man United but also to other Premier League clubs like Liverpool and Manchester City, who have taken an interest in securing the Brazilian’s services.
A Palmeiras idol in the making?
The forward’s young age means he has not yet played got Palmeiras’s senior team as of yet, but his reputation precedes him. Endrick has already been compared to two-time World Cup winner and Brazil legend Ronaldo Nazario.
However, unlike Ronaldo, who went on to become a world-class player in Europe later on in his career, Endrick said that his current focus is to stay in Palmeiras and become an idol in Brazil.
“I have to focus on Palmeiras, where I want to become an idol.”
The wonderkid may be highly sought after in Europe, but the player seems to be content with staying in Brazil for the time being. It may be the right move for the teenager as well, using this chance to hone his skills and become a better player as he grows older.
Manchester United are always going to be interested in signing the world’s best talents, and their interest in Endrick should come as no surprise. Though the forward has committed his future to Palmeiras for the foreseeable future, the Red Devils can still monitor his progress in Brazil and plan for a future transfer approach.

Endrick would have been a star addition at the club’s academy at Carrington. The place has already produced talents like Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Gary Neville and Paul Pogba among others in the last three decades.
For now, the Brazilian seems keen on staying in his native country, and it remains to be seen if Man United will pursue him at a later stage. This space will definitely be worth watching as the player grows older and better in the next few years. If all goes well, we could be making a move for a much more complete player in the future.
