Manchester United still intent to sign Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry amidst Barcelona interest
According to the German media outlet Fussball Transfers (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are still in the hunt to secure the services of Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry amidst interest from Barcelona. He has been sensational for his side once again this season and is arguably their best winger in the squad.
Gnabry will only have two years left in his current contract in the summer transfer window. Bayern Munchen have not renewed his deal with them just yet, which has resulted in interest from major European players. The attacker could be available for a cut-price after this season if he continues to reject advances from the German club to keep him at Allianz Arena.
Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on the situation alongside Man United and Barca ahead of the summer transfer window. All three of them have remained in contention to secure the German’s signature if an opportunity arrives at their doorstep in the future.
Can Man Utd sign Gnabry?
Since Ralf Rangnick has moved Jadon Sancho to the left-wing, we have become shorthanded in the options available on the opposite side. Sancho has fared really well in his new role, so it is difficult to see him utilised in his previous position. As such, we are forced to look at options, who could come in and instantly start for us.
That could explain why we have continued our pursuit for the Bayern superstar who has excelled following his failed spells with Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion. Having featured in 30 matches this season, he has scored 12 goals with eight assists alongside it across all competitions.
Prising the 26-year-old away from the Bavarians would be a major coup indeed, especially amidst competition from Real and the Catalans. That would also send a stern statement to our rivals regarding our ambitions to get back into contention to challenge for titles.

A potential transfer would not be easy since the German international is tied down until 2024. Even if he pushed for a move, the Bundesliga side could simply decide to keep him in their squad. Moreover, Los Blancos and the Blaugrana club would not give us a free pass to secure his signature as well.
