Transfer News: Manchester United to launch a late-bid for Scottish full-back Calvin Ramsay
According to transfer news from MOT Leeds News, Manchester United are planning to make their move for Scottish star Calvin Ramsay who plays for Aberdeen FC in the Scottish Premier League.
Calvin Ramsay has given a highly productive spell for Aberdeen in the first half of the season. With eight assists in 22 appearances across all competitions, he is currently one of the best young full-backs in the Scottish league. At only 18-years of age, his incredible display has attracted some top Premier League clubs’ interest.
Leeds United are also interested in signing the right-back this January and are even ready to offer £5million for the youngster’s services. It is believed that Manchester United has joined the transfer race and is preparing to make a late bid for the teenage full-back.
A good deal for Man United?
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been the first choice right-back for the last two seasons. However, the English star’s attacking role has attracted some speculations lately. Defensively, the 24-year-old also hasn’t been this best self in this term which has created concern for our German manager.
After returning from the AC Milan loan spell, it was thought that Diogo Dalot would be shipped again, considering the lack of trust of former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær in the Portuguese star. However, the full-back flourished under new manager Ralf Rangnick and has become an essential squad member.
A quality that’s currently lacking in both of our right-backs is the aggressive intent and game awareness in the higher areas of the pitch. Ramsay seems like a player that can offer a solution for our needs. The youngster is promising on the ball and is comfortable making the runs and creating chances for the forward line.

We currently have two of the best goal poachers of this generation in Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo. However, their contribution has been limited due to the lack of quality passes. Ramsay can help bridge the gap and also provide a long term solution in the right-back spot.
However, our board have to decide soon with only hours left in the ongoing transfer window. Leeds certainly have the power to offer Ramsey better game time, but we can beat them in the race with a better sporting project and a more lucrative offer.
