Transfer News: Ralf Rangnick to let go of four Manchester United stars thanks to Anthony Elanga
According to ESPN, Ralf Rangnick is willing to part ways with four Manchester United stars due to the recent emergence of Anthony Elanga. The youngster has been one of the brightest sparks within the team in recent times, with the goal against Brentford a shining example of his abilities.
Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Donny van de Beek, and Amad Diallo are the four players whose names are on this month’s exit door. Rangnick was initially concerned about the departures and was reluctant to sanction the exit. However, Elanga’s emergence has given him more confidence. As a result, Martial has already departed to join Sevilla, while Amad has since agreed to join Rangers.
Lingard is still a transfer target for Newcastle United whereas Van de Beek has attracted interest from Crystal Palace regarding a loan move. Whether either of these players will join Martial and Amad on the way out remains to be seen.
Too much pressure?
It is good to know that the German boss counts on the services of the academy talent and has faith in his ability to come good. It is always a good sight to see one of our youngsters succeeding at Old Trafford, so this stance from the manager would certainly help in that aspect. However, it could place too much pressure on Elanga’s shoulders at the same time.
Losing four players in the same window without bringing in any reinforcements might not be the best approach. Man United are still involved in the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League apart from the top four race in the Premier League. Sacrificing strength in depth is not without its risks.
That means the 63-year-old coach would probably be using the Swedish winger on the left-hand side in attack alongside Marcus Rashford. The new 4-3-3 system would suit the academy star in that regard, while Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood would probably be plying their trades on the other side.

It will be interesting to see how much of a prominent role the Man United starlet would get in the months to come. Certainly, the departure of the remaining outcasts would help in such a case. It remains to be seen how the situation would develop moving forward.
Elanga has been handed a wonderful opportunity to show his ability and raise his standing at the club. The onus is now on the 19-year-old to prove his ability and establish his legacy at the Theatre of Dream
