Romano reveals two Manchester United demands for van de Beek to be loaned out this month

Can Donny van de Beek finally succeed at Man United?

Manchester United take transfer stance on loan offer from Crystal Palace for Donny van de Beek

According to the transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have finally taken a definitive stance on Donny van de Beek following an offer from Crystal Palace for a loan transfer. He has found his life at Old Trafford to be difficult since he left Ajax to join them in 2020.

Things have not changed much under Ralf Rangnick either, which has put Van de Beek’s future at Man United into doubt. Now Palace have expressed an interest in taking him away on loan for the rest of this season. They have submitted a proposal and are engaged in direct negotiations with the Red Devils.

The Manchester club has two demands for a deal to take place: for the entire salary to be paid until next summer, and without a buy option in the deal. It remains to be seen how this situation develops with time ticking away for the transfer window to close down with each passing day.

Move on the cards?

Since we have not seen any signs that the Dutchman would enjoy more prominence in our team, it would be wise on our part to help him gain regular minutes. It does not make sense to let him rot on the bench and eat away our wages when we could keep him match sharp by loaning him to another club.

Who knows, the 24-year-old could have a greater role in the future when the squad is much more stable and ready for a rebuild under a permanent manager. Romano has confirmed that Rangnick’s side have plans for him next season, which further solidifies the theory specified above.

Not to mention, Patrick Vieira is keen on signing him, so he is bound to get more minutes under his belt. We also have a chance to put forth our own demands from any deal for van de Beek due to the interest from Valencia and other clubs.

The attacking midfielder is set to decide on his next destination shortly, with many options ahead of him. But Vieira’s side is the one putting pressure for the deal to get done before the winter market nears its end. The German boss is hesitant to let him leave, which is understandable since it is good to have solid depth in a long season.

However, even after the 63-year-old coach took over the managerial job on an interim basis, we have not seen the Dutch international enjoy much game time. The reasons to let him leave outweigh the reasons to keep him here, so let us hope that the board takes a reasonable decision regarding this matter in the coming days.

It would have been a different matter had the ex-Ajax ace had enjoyed increased playing time recently. But even through Paul Pogba’s injury, the Dutchman has been on the fringes of first-team action. With the FIFA World Cup also fast approaching this year, a loan move to another top-flight club may well be a move that suits all parties, at least for now.
