Transfer News: Real Madrid ahead of Manchester United in the race for Brazilian sensation Endrick
According to Marca in English, Premier League side Manchester United are behind Real Madrid in the race to land talented 15-year-old Brazilian sensation, Endrick.
The teenager is yet to make a senior appearance for Brazilian side Palmeiras but has already captured the imagination of some of Europe’s biggest teams. Apart from us, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal, among others, are all interested in the player and are keeping tabs on his progress.
However, the Spanish side Real Madrid are currently leading the race for Endrick. Palmeiras, for their part, are keen to keep the youngster under wraps and have no interest in parting ways with him. Just how long they can manage to do that remains to be seen.
Despite his young age, the teenager already has a deal with Nike. He also has a relatively modest €17million release clause that could prove to be a bargain should he go on to fulfil his potential. However, he cannot sign a professional contract with a foreign club until he turns 18, and the interested teams should be willing to play the long game.
Real have a reputation for landing talented young South Americans and are keen to use it to their benefit. Los Blancos star Vinicius Junior is in contact with Endrick as the Spanish side seek to drive their advantage home.
The Spanish giants made an offer that exceeded Vinicius’s release clause when they signed the player from Flamengo in 2018. The same approach could be used to land Endrick in the future.
The fact that several of Europe’s big names are involved in the race to land Endrick is a testament to his potential. It is not every day that a player of the 15-year-old’s ability comes to the fore.
Manchester United have secured the services of some of the top young players from across the world in recent years. Securing Endrick would be not just an excellent move but also a statement of intent. However, as things stand, we have work to do to overtake Real in the race for the young Brazilian.
Endrick’s ability to constantly find the back of the net despite the obstacles in his way is a major testament to his abilities. His excellent work rate and strong physique make him a difficult player to come up against at the youth level. Hopefully, his development will transcend age groups as he develops into a world-class player at the senior level.

While the promise is well and good, it remains to be seen just how the player performs as he rises through the ranks. While potential is good, it will account for nought unless he continues to work hard and hone his abilities. At 15, it is still early to say if Endrick will make the cut and live up to his hype.
