Transfer News: Paul Pogba aware that Ralf Rangnick is not his biggest fan as he makes decision over new Manchester United contract
According to transfer news on L’Equipe (h/t Sport Witness), Paul Pogba is mulling over a new Manchester United contract as he is aware of how Ralf Rangnick feels about him.
The French superstar is at a crossroads over a new deal for quite some time now. The Red Devils are open to keeping him at the club, but with less than six months on his current contract, Pogba is the master of his next destination.
PSG, Real Madrid, and Juventus are interested, with the French club really keen on a deal. A move back to his home country could prove to be tempting for the midfielder, but there are reservations in the French capital about accumulating too many stars.
The 28-year-old also has doubts about signing a new deal at Old Trafford. This is because he is aware that Rangnick is not his ‘biggest fan.’ The German manager also made certain comments in 2017, stating that he would not swap Naby Keita for the Frenchman. Additionally, the 63-year-old is not bending over backwards to keep the former Juventus ace at the club.
Pogba needs to make a decision soon
There is a lot of hold up over this one decision. It has been a long time since he has been mulling over rejecting or accepting a new deal. The pendulum keeps swinging either way, and it shall keep doing so until he officially communicates a firm decision to the club.
Pogba is perhaps waiting to see who is appointed as the permanent manager in the summer. But the French international needs to make a decision before that, because we could then plot transfer plans and target his replacements, not to mention a holding midfielder too.
Rangnick has been clear since the beginning. If a player wants to leave, he is free to do so, but only if it is in the best interest of the club. Thus, there is nothing more to decide. If the midfielder can come to terms with a new deal then he needs to sign it in the coming months.

If not, he needs to communicate that he shall be leaving once his contract expires. The 28-year-old is keeping Man United on the hook, and the hierarchy now need to hand him an ultimatum. No player is bigger than the club, and Pogba needs to understand that as soon as possible.
