Manchester United ace Diogo Dalot continued to play vs Aston Villa despite suffering a horror injury mid-way through the game
According to The Sun, Manchester United star, Diogo Dalot continued to play against Aston Villa on Monday despite picking up a brutal cut injury mid-way through the game.
The full-back was benched for the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend, with Aaron wan-Bissaka being given the nod in a back-four. However, the Portuguese returned to the starting line-up against Aston Villa, playing as the right wing-back in a back-three formation.
He started the game well and was lively on the wings. But after just half an hour, the full-back picked up an injury and was down on the ground. On close examination, it was revealed that he had a cut on his ankle, which was so deep that the bone could be seen.
But the former Porto star continued to play through it before being stitched at full-time by the Man United medics. To the relief of several fans, he later confirmed on his official Twitter account that ‘it is all good now.’
“Thank you for the messages. It’s all good now with the help of the Doctor. Onto the next one! Good image for those who like anatomy.”
Playing for the team
There was something incredibly commendable about the way Dalot made his way back onto the pitch. After being brought outside the turf to treat his situation, the Portuguese ace could see that we were lacking control in the game due to his absence.
He got up quickly and entered the game as soon as the referee signalled that he could do so. What was even more impressive was that he lasted the entire 90 minutes. This heroism is the kind of stuff missing from some players in the current setup.
The 22-year-old was playing for the team on the night and gave them precedence over his brutal cut. Thus, it does not look like things are too bad under the management of Ralf Rangnick. The players are playing for each other, if not for the gaffer.
Thank you for the messages. It’s all good now with the help of the Doctor 💪🏻 Onto the next one!

Thus, they may not have made peace with the tactics of the new boss but are ready to work cohesively. It is a good sign, and perhaps others in the dressing room can take note of the same. Dalot, in particular, rejoiced at the full-time whistle as he knew that the victory was important on the night, especially after the current run of form.
Let’s just hope this injury just looked serious and is nothing to worry about now.
