Transfer News: Yves Bissouma hints at Brighton and Hove Albion stay amid Manchester United interest
Tweeting after the game against Everton (h/t Sussex Live), Manchester United transfer target Yves Bissouma hinted that he will be staying at Brighton and Hove Albion beyond this window’s deadline.
The Mali international is a vital part of Graham Potter’s midfield. But despite his best efforts, the Seagulls were shot down by goals from Demarai Gray and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in a 2-0 defeat.
Brighton have had a good start to the season and Bissouma, 24, had played a vital role in their opening two league victories against Watford and Burnley.
And following the defeat at the Amex Stadium, Bissouma hinted that he would be beyond the transfer day deadline at Brighton.
Bissouma to stay?
“I find it hard to digest this defeat. We wanted to win our third game in a row for a great club with incredible fans but unfortunately as we say in football nothing is planned in advance but the best is yet to come, focus for the next one Brighton & Hove Albion FC.”
“The next one”, as Bissouma refers to in his tweet above, implies the game against Brentford on 11th September. By then, the transfer window would be long closed and the next chance for him to leave would only come in January 2022.
This comes as a potential blow for his suitors this summer, namely Man United, Arsenal, and Liverpool. United fans should not lose sleep if Ed Woodward and John Murtough don’t land Bissouma this summer.
