Transfer News: Manchester United putting in the groundwork to sign Endrick
According to transfer news from R7 columnist Cosme Rimoli (h/t Sports Witness), Manchester United are keeping a close tab on Palmeiras starlet Endrick.
Brazilian wonder kid Endrick rose to fame after a row of impressive displays for Palmeiras. The 15-year-old recently scored a breathtaking goal that went viral on the internet. The youngster has been compared with Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr and certainly possess the talent to justify the big claims.
Endrick has given mouth-watering performances in the Copa São Paulo, which has attracted many Elite European clubs’ eyes. Manchester United were believed to be in that pack of teams as well. Furthermore, it seems the Red Devils also contacted his entourage and made inquiries.
Now, it is believed that the United board are ‘excited’ about the 15-year-old and made a detailed assessment of his past performances.
Who is Endrick?
Except for Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United forwards have remained on the backfoot when it comes to scoring goals in the current campaign. Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho haven’t given the expected performance. Mason Greenwood has shown the spark a few times, but he still requires some grooming to take the right decisions on the field.
Amid such a scenario, Ralf Rangnick has pointed towards his most experienced two forwards – Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo. But both the superstars are ageing, and it’d be illogical to ask for another five years of peak performance from them.
The Red Devils require a long term solution, and Endrick’s recent performances have hinted that he might meet the expectations. The Brazilian is the kind of player that obliges the supporters to get on the edge of their seats. He has an impressive goal tally of 165 goals in 169 games at the youth level.
Endrick is below 16 years of age, so he can’t sign a professional contract with a foreign team. Palmeiras are looking to take advantage of that by binding the wonderkid in a new deal that includes a massive release clause.

It wouldn’t be much of a surprise if Ralf Rangnick managed to bring Endrick to Old Trafford in the future. The Manchester United interim manager played a decisive role in signing numerous talented youngsters when he was working with RB Leipzig. So the German would be expected to do such deals when he turned to the executive role next season.
