Dressing room crisis looms as Cristiano Ronaldo “threatens” Manchester United trio due to undroppable status
According to The Express, Cristiano Ronaldo could lead to a crisis within the dressing room due to a certain Manchester United trio being dissatisfied with his undroppable status. Ralf Rangnick could have a tough task at hand after there were suggestions of division within the playing squad.
Harry Maguire, Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani are apparently upset with the impact that Ronaldo has had on the roles. Others in the team are concerned by CR7’s influence over the Portuguese speaking players and other international teammates. It could potentially lead to a dressing room crisis which Rangnick has to solve before it gets out of hand.
Luke Shaw had hinted after the loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers that there could be a lack of unity within the team. Shaw was firm in his criticism and could have suggested that certain players lacked commitment as they were passengers during the match. It could possibly create a headache for the United boss in the coming days in a worst-case scenario.
Cause for concern?
Cavani and Greenwood saw their game time get affected by the arrival of the 36-year-old this summer. The youngster even saw himself forced into wide areas to make way for the Portuguese international. That could explain the reasons why they are apparently frustrated about the current situation with the Red Devils.
Maguire is a different case altogether since the point of contention could be around the captaincy and his diminishing influence among the squad. If what is mentioned above is true, Cristiano has enjoyed greater control over others which may not have sat well with the Englishman.
The clash of egos could lead to a crisis that can further derail our chances of having a great season. As such, the German coach has to manage the scenario and find a solution before the issue becomes unsolvable. We cannot let this get out of hand, and the matter has to be put to bed as soon as possible.
The last game is an example of why this may seem to be true, as the Portugal attacker was kept on the pitch, despite having a sub-par performance. The 20-year-old Greenwood had a lively display but was substituted in the second half against Wolves even though there were others who deserved to get subbed off.
But then again, it could be all the fuel the media needed to create potential unrest within our team. Papers run stories to sell copies and get hits, and what more news-worthy to write about than Man United and Ronaldo?

So, there could be three possible situations. One where there is a fallout, one where there isn’t a fallout, and one somewhere in the middle of the two. Only time will tell what is true, but if it is the latter two, like we mentioned above, we need to deal with it swiflty and privately.
