Primarily a left-back, Netz is versatile enough to play as a centre-back or a left midfielder if necessary. Since moving to Borussia Monchengladbach from Hertha Berlin this summer, he has become a regular for Die Fohlen. He has three clean sheets and two assists to his name, having played 13 matches across all competition this season.

Bella-Kotchap plays as a central defender and has been crucial for VFL Bochum in their attempt to gain promotion to the Bundesliga this season. He has played ten matches this campaign and has contributed to his team’s mid-table position in the league table.

Martel is currently on loan at Austria Vienna from RB Leipzig and has been sensational for them. He is good enough to play as a centre-back as well as a defensive midfielder and is equally good in both positions. If he continues to develop as expected, he could be the latest star to emerge from the Red Bull setup.

Young guns are always a necessary part of the squad as they bring in the much-needed drive and also help guarantee the future. They have their careers ahead of them and would possess the required ambition to do their best moving forward. That would be perfect for us as we are trying to rebuild an era of continued success.

The potential injection of this new crop of players would compensate for the relatively agreeing squad that we have at the moment. While some may argue that we should target short term success, there have been many examples over the years that youngsters would form the base of what can be an era-defining squad.
